조선대학교 미술대학은 1946년 조선대학교 개교와 더불어 개설된 문예학부 예술과를 모태로 합니다.
70년의 역사와 한국미술을 주도해온 저력을 바탕으로 국제화시대에 부응하는 창조적이고 개성적인 예술가로서의 자질을 기릅니다.

인간본연의 심미적 표현능력을 극대화하는 회화학과(서양화전공, 한국화전공)와 문화콘텐츠학부(현대조형미디어전공, 시각문화큐레이터전공, 가구·도자디자인전공), 산업디자인 전문 인력 양성을 위한 라이프스타일디자인학부(섬유·패션디자인전공, 실내디자인전공), 시각디자인학과, 디자인공학과, 각종 첨단 교육기자재와 심도 있는 교육체계를 갖춘 만화애니메이션학과 등 분야별 전문화된 이론과 실기교육을 통하여 독창적인 예술성과 조형 표현능력을 키웁니다.
국제적 감각이 탁월하고 현장 실무경력이 우수한 교수진 확보와, 첨단시설 및 기자재에 의한 선진화된 다양한 교육프로그램의 제공으로 학생들의 무한한 잠재력을 키우는 최적의 교육환경을 만들어가고 있습니다.

조선대학교 미술대학은 해외 유명 미술 및 디자인대학, 전문기관 등과 업무 협약을 체결하고, 조선대학교 산하의 디자인 대학원, 문화예술산업연구소, 조선대학교 미술관, 실비아 올드 앤 포키 미술관 등과의 유기적 연계를 바탕으로 특성화되고 차별화된 글로벌 미술 대학이 되도록 노력하고 있습니다.
이를 통해 조선대학교 미술대학은 궁극적으로 한국 미술 문화의 향상과 인류 문화에 공헌할 수 있는 예술가와 디자이너, 그리고 문화예술콘텐츠 전문가를 배출하고자 합니다.

Introduction of College of Art and Design

The College of Art and Design in Chosun University has provided various scholarships and academic programs, exchange programs international, the acquisition of teacher's certificates as the best college of art in our country. We have a higher status as an art college as students have been awarded internationally and produced lots of famous artists.

For department of Art, students are separately admitted for each division and can have expanded opportunities to choose what they lear through multiple major systems. This division has been engaged in the following activities : Credit and student exchanges and international exchanges with world famous universities.

For department of Design, this division aims to nurture competent professional designers who can actively deal with environmental changes in a rapidly changing design industry. Students can contribute to the development of the design industry by nurturing ability in practical adjustment, the use of information media, a realization of aesthetic art, the creation of traditional culture, and respond to globalism.
